Landmannalaugar Winter Expedition

2 days, overnight at remote hut in the Icelandic Highlands
Self drive super jeep tour with teambuilding and incentive trials.
Trip difficulty 3 out of 5 possible.

A truly remarkable winter adventure lies ahead. In the morning everybody boards their own Super Defender (big 38“ tires) with the guiding vehicle leading the way out of town and towards the Icelandic highlands. Our aim is to reach Landmannalaugar* in the southern interior – a place unreachable during winter for normal cars. With our modified cars we are driving and floating over snow covered plains far away from any civilization.

On our way we stop at unique natural sights such as the spectacular Hjálparfoss and Háifoss waterfalls as wells as taking a peak at the restored Vikinghouse, Þjórðveldisbærinn that lies close to the Búrfell Hydro station. We reach the remote hut of Landmannalaugar, Icelands most popular summer highland destination, which in winter we are likely to have all to our selves! There the group will have some teambuilding trials to solve. Each program is customized for each group in accordance with the composition of the group. Trials will take place in the hut as well as outside, so make sure that every one comes prepared for the harsh conditions. Then we barbecue Icelandic lamb in the evening and unwind in the famous natural hot pot right next to the hut.

In morning and after a good breakfast our arctic adventure continues as we make our way back into civilization. On the way we stop Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot springs to crown this magnificent winter expedition. We should be back in the capital in the early evening… but no one can say for sure, the Icelandic winter always has the last word!

* In case the hut in Landmannalaugar cannot be reached we will use the accommodation at Hrauneyjar or Holaskogur as a backup location.
