Northern Lights Mystery
Join us for a mysterious trip, on a dark winter night. Any time from the onset of
autumn darkness until the light nights of spring we can witness one of nature’s most
spectacular displays; the phenomenon which we call the Northern Lights.
Escaping Reykjavik city lights, we hunt for the elusive Northern Lights and the best
places to experience their swirling wild dance across the night sky in fantastic shapes
The Northern Lights are visible in Iceland from September through April but can only
be seen when skies are clear. For this reason we reserve the right to cancel this tour
if the evening sky is heavily clouded or weather conditions are not favorable for
watching the Northen Lights. A decision is taken daily at 6 pm whether the Northern
Lights tour will take place or not. All hotels and booking agents in Reykjavik are
informed by email about our decision so please contact the front desk of your hotel or
the Tour Desk at hotel Saga, Loftleidir Hotel and Hilton Hotel to find out whether we
will be operating the Northern Lights tour. Before we start this tour we always check
the weather forecast for around Reykjavik and the south western part of Iceland.
Years of experience has tought us how to decide where each journey will lead us, out from Reykjavik for the best possibilities to see the Northern Lights.
Please note: We cannot guarantee sightings even if the Northern lights tour is operated. In these cases we offer our customers a second tour free of charge. Please book the second tour by calling our tour desk at 540 1313.
Please note: Those that join the Northern Lights Mystery tour on 31 December may
miss the fireworks in Reykjavik. The Northern Lights tour is a 3 to 5 hour tour and we
cannot guarantee that we will be back in Reykjavik before midnight. If you do not
want to miss the fireworks, please do not book this tour for 31 December!
